The Sherpa

These mitts are just so feminine with its delicate and lady-like pattern. The angora didn't really behave until it got washed. Once washed, it bloomed and the stitched evened up considerably.

I decided to use some angora/merino that I had in stash to avoid worrying about whether the yarn would arrive in time or not as it was designated for a Christmas present. 2 strands of 2/20 laceweight gave me a good fabric and the right tension

Time for the big stretch

Project Notes

1. I added a few extra rows of garter stitches at the write to reduce the rolling.

2. I also used a smaller needle to pick up stitches and cast off the pebble edging to avoid resewing. I then worked all the ends into the double fabric.

Here's the artsy shots, with colour and with reduced colour saturation.
