Wickerware Socks

A simple sock pattern, suitable for a man or woman. I made these using some Sock-50 that I bought ages ago. They were intended to be Christmas socks for my husband. All through December, I snuck off whenever I could to try and get a few rows done. Turns out that 2 balls weren't quite enough. So I started the second foot and concurrently launched a worldwide search to try and get another ball. Finally, I was able to locate some more. Well, it was in the US, and by the time it got to me, it was too late for Christmas. Nevertheless, I got it and finished off these socks. It would had been a nightmare trying to find a good contrasting yarn for the toes and heels.

Did I mention that Debra Chinn is a really nice lady? She saved me *big time* when I ran out of some Socka 50. She liberated a skein from her stash so that I could finished my husband's wickerware socks. The helpfulness of knitters, never cease to amaze me.

It's so hard to see the pattern when you knit with dark yarns

Project Notes

1. I used 80 stitches with a tension of 9 st/inch.

2. Here's a better shot of the stitchwork and the yarn. It's a lovely yarn and the green and red threads really liven it up.

I lost a lot of sleep over these socks
