Flat Hat

A simple garter stitch hat from Sally Melville's Knit Stitch

I chose a colorful yarn to work with this simple pattern.

The pattern was easy, but the thick/thin properties of the yarn made it difficult to get an even tension. It also shedded a lot. It's soft and the colours are very vibrant. I hadn't done a garter stitch garment of any sort in ages.

I didn't have 4mm double pointed needles so I did it on straight needles.







Project Notes

1. Not many notes for this project. Let's just say that it's hard to maintain tension with silk garden becuase I have chunks that were very think ot very thin.





2. I did mattress stitch to join at the seam. I think that the hat would had looked better knitted in the round..
