It's an easy enough pattern but you really need to swatch and adjust according to how you like the fit and your tension. You also need to pay attention to the cabling or you might mix up the C4B with the C4F. I did the cabling without a cable needle I would not recommend this sock to a beginner or to someone one with little experience working with dpns. Working wil multple needles and a cable needle might be too fiddly to start with.

It's just to distressing to rip when you find that the sock is too narrow. You also need to be careful that it's not too big because the cables are inelastic so too big = baggy.

Project Notes

1. I started this on 72 stitches and 2.5 mm needles. After 5 inches, I found that it was too tight, so I ripped back to the ribbing and increased by 8 stitches evenly. It's OK but if I did it again, I would recommend increasing to 84 inches.

2. The first sock went pretty quickly. The yarn is subtle and seems to change colours when view under different lighting. It can look to be a shaded grey or take on a purple tint. The shade is plum, so I'd reckon that that's what you get with plum.... a grey/purple tinted shade

3. Since, I often get criticism for photos of items without the FO being worn, I made a special effort to present this FO on more than 1 model.
