Heart Warming

A lovely little baby sweater with lots of fun bits to keep it interesting. The hem is a bell rufffle. The little hearts on the front are done using beading and applique techniques. The moss stitch button bands are stretched and stitched on. All finished off with mother of pearl heart shaped buttons.

Easy and fun pattern to make. Interesting to knit, but the knitted applique heart was very fiddly to do. I passed on over stitching the blocks where the hearts went as it looked too busy on such a small item. I bought the yarn with my £5 voucher from attending the Rowan/Jaeger preview in Peter Jones.

Project Notes

1. I made very few changes to pattern, but I did do the sleeves twice, since the first time, I knit the wrong size.

2. I hate this knitting up and stitching on the button band. I don't like the way that it looks and the stretching and stitching always fills me with anxiety. But it's done, hooray! I must get a picture of it on the recipient.
