Embossed Leaf Lace

Another winner from Interweave. This pattern is quick to memorise and to knit. The leaf pattern is carried onto the toe decreases with the 4 point star cast off.

I love the crispness of the 1x1 rib cuff and the tubular cast-on. The lace pattern was fairly stretchy too The only change that I would make would be to add 4-6 stitches to the cuff and decrease when I get to the leg pattern. I found that the cuff was a wee bit snug for the fabric on the leg.

These were the last pair that I completed in 2006. I love the Fyberspates yarn. It's the first time that I'd used it and it isn't as soft as the Lorna's Lace but has a nicer handle than the Opal. It feels a bit plumper. The semi-solid shades are perfect for these kind of sock pattern. Interesting but not too busy.

Project Notes

1. The leaves are just not apparent until the blocking

Embossed Leaf Lace

2. The quickest way to block it was just to give it a quick bath in the basin

Here's the artistic pose. .. I just love this bowl.
