A very easy jacket from the Debbie Bliss Denim Aran book. It knits up quickly and is very versatile.

I really wished that Debbie Bliss did a green denim yarn. I really wanted a green jacket, so I didn't have a choice but to substitute. The Rowan Summer Tweed gave me a much lighter and less denser fabric. Comparatively, I user 450g of summer Tweed. If I had done the jacket in the original wool, I would had used 750g. The Summer Tweed has excellent yardage and in this shade of green, it's the perfect jumper for wearing all through autumn.

It really knitted up quickly. Instead of the one button fastening, I used a kilt pin. One of these days, I'm going to find a noce piece of twig instead since it would suit the rusticness of the yarn better than a gold pin.

Project Notes

1. My tension was slightly tighter than the 18x24 per 10cm. I got 19x26. the fabric was much firmer annoyingly the elbows still got baggy. See how light the faric is? Perfect cover-up for the summer or easrly autumn.

wrinkly, crinkly ..

2. The curling edges added a nice casual touch. Stocking stitch, plain stitches suit the summer tweed, much more than cables. I didn't have much problem with the yarns snapping, but this is not the strongest yarn. What I really did like about it was that it might be aran weight, but it doesn't feel it.
