Project Notes

1. I used a slightly lighter yarn that the one that the pattern recommended (Rowan Handknit DK.) Normally, I would have to resize the pattern, but my goddaughter, Alex is very willowy, so I just followed the 12-18 month instructions. The Jaeger Aqua is mercerised, while the Rowan HandKnit DK is not. The dress has a slight sheen.

2. For the 1 x1 ribbing, instead of doing *(K,P)*, I did *(K tbl, P)*. I think that it looks neater.

3. The instructions called for a crochet edged. I couldn't get it to work (I am hopeless at doing crochet, and will one day buy a book and learn). To get the picot edging, I picked up 2 stitches, cast off, picked up 3rd stitch, slipped 3rd stitch to left needle, knit, slipped the stitch back to left needle, knit and the cast off. It was far less traumatic that trying the crochet edge again.
