Ladder Of Life Socks

A simple ladder stitch rib extending from leg to the toes. A very sober yarn, I got a bit bored with doing dark socks, so I decided to zap the heels with some bright Regia that I had in stash.

It looks so sedate until the shoes come off.

Project Notes

1. The pattern was written for worsted weight wool. I compensated by casting on more stitches (80 st, my tension on 2.25m is 9st/inch ).
Simple and versatile. This is a stretchy rib.

2. For the heel, I did 5 stitches of garter stitches on either side of the the slipped stitches. I find this makes the heel neater and I don't need a stitch counter to track the number of rolls.
This is what happens when the wife is left at home and the husband is out for a drink with the lads.
