Lace Tam

All that knitting with black yarn got a bit boring, so I started something in pink. It's a much kinder colour on my eyes, especially during these dark wintery nights

This is the Lace Tam by Lois Young in A Gathering of Lace.

There are some really lovely details in this pattern. I love lace column, so delicate. I love had the 2 twisted columns merge into 1.

The hat comes up a bit small though. I knit this Rowan 4 ply botany, and I used 3.25m needles and added an extra repeat to make it bigger.

The hat is going into my collection for Project Nepal. I'm hoping to have a few things to send off.

Ha! I did the same thing. I threw aside an almost black project and started a red-pink one. Much better than going blind.

It's gorgeous ! It's a great idea to photograph the Tam over a
plate (?) & the stitches are so nicely seen. Great work.

I made one not long ago, absolutetly loved the pattern and how it came out. I find it much more wearable than pictured in the book and may make more of these. I too had to add a pattern repeat to make it long enough though. Lovely work and thank you for the photos!

It's gorgeous! I thought about knitting this tam, and am glad to have the benefit of your experiences with the pattern. Now I just need to find the time to knit it.
