Black & White

White as in these socks.

This is the Hedera pattern by Cookie A. It's lovely, isn't it? Although I have to say that in white, it's not going to get much use, so I'll probably dye them another colour. I knit this for the July Semi-solid (July colours are red, white or blue) & cookie a knit-long.

Black as it fresh baked brownies. The recipe is from Delia Smith.

I was a bit nervous when they first came out of the oven and reduced the baking time by 5 minutes (I find with my oven, I need to cook for less time than generally recommended to avoid over baking).

Once they cooled, I cut them up

and can see that they were lovely and most. Firm on the outside and soft on the inside.

It's amazing how little chocolate and how much sugar goes into this recipe, but they really are chocolatey and delicious, and a bit different since I used hazelnut instead of walnuts.

I love your socks. They were the first patterned socks I knitted.

I love the Hedera pattern. I think it's one pattern that also looks good in variegated yarn. The white looks lovely though - although they would be hard to keep clean!

Lovely socks & I love it in white. The brownies look yummy. I baked brownies frequently as my girls love them.

Just LOOKING at those brownies blows my caloric intake for the day. So yummy looking.

And while I wouldn't pick white either, the yarn looks soft and comfy to wear. Nice!

they're good aren't they? almonds are also a good alternative to walnuts.
