Garment time

Yes, I've cast on a garment.... after all those socks, it feels liberating to not feel obligated to knit socks

After many years of yearning for Grace, I've finally started her.

<Lizzie from Jaeger Book 1 (JM01)

I am knitting it in pieces and so far am still on the cabled hem. It's over 200 stitches on 2.75mm needles, so basically, taking forever. I'm 1 ball into this cardigan and there still several more repeats to go.

The pattern is from Jaeger Book 1 (JM01)

and I'm knitting this up in Rowan 4 ply soft. I have some cashmere in my stash which I'm saving for Grace #2. Consider this my trial run ;-)

I've always loved this pattern too. But how you can contemplate knitting it twice, I do not know....

I. Love. That. Cable.

Grace is knitting up very nicely. I love that shade of the 4 ply soft!

Oh! This is one of my earliest knitting crushes - must dig out my Jaeger patterns. I remember pricing it up in the original cashmere and thinking "ouch". It will be fab in 4 ply soft and I look forward to your progress.

Lovely pattern. I wonder if it is available from Rowan still.

That is such a pretty hem Polly. It will suit you. Can't wait to see how it looks.

PS I'm going to do some shawls rather than garments for a change!

Grace is lovely I have always coveted the pattern and long meant to knit it, can't wait to see how it turns out.

I must look through my books and magazines, this is lovely.

I know what you mean about knitting something other than socks, but I would quibble with your contention that socks aren't garments. Today is a laundry day, and I have 60 garments hanging on the rack downstairs!
