Let's roll

Although I'm planning on making some plain socks for these knit-alongs, I'm also going to work on some more interesting ones. The goal is to do 1 simple pair for 2 more complex ones. The main reason for this is that my family tends to prefer stocking stitch and plain ribs, which makes for rather boring knitting.

In preparation, I've been printing out patterns and marrying them to yarn to make up little kits for myself... so many patterns ... so little time!

Roll on 21st June!

I love that you've got sock kits for each sock yarn and patterns. Sounds like you are all ready!

I think I see three patterns on your to do list that I am planning as well. I also have one ball of the same yarn in the same color as you do in your bowl. I guess its hard to be completely original. I can't wait to see your socks.

That's an inspirational basket! :-) I hope you empty it soon, and successfully. :-)

Looks like you're all set for the start ;) I'd love to start with you, but I discovered the KALs too late (bummer), so I'll have to be content with watching your socks !!! (although I'll make my own too)

Happy knitting

The excitement is indeed wide-spread. I, too, have a basket of sock yarn. However, mine lives in the closet, where my Meezers (Siamese cats) can't help themselves. Wish I could gaze upon it. As the waiting becomes more difficult, I may have to put it on the mantle, another cat-safe spot.

Looks like you are all organised & ready to go. It's so exciting & I am looking forward to seeing all the socks that you will be knitting.

I'm anticipating the 21st too! I love those two skeins of blue in your basket. For some reason - maybe because I love denim & blue jeans - I tend to pick out yarns with lots of blue in them.

I've had to cast on something quick this morning- not socks, or anything similar (baby socks, baby hat!) so I'm doing a quick baby surplice. BUT I have to wind my yarns, and do the same as you - get the patterns ready! I've queued most of the patterns with an sos tag ready for printing out.

You can always use any not knitted over summer as your 52pp!

I'm excited to get started. I've been biding my time knitting a hat this week so that I don't start a sock before I ought to.
