Please help me out here - you look like you have a handle on the moss stitch, despite your concerns. I have a pattern that calls for a UK moss stitch and it is a 4 row sequence that starts w/p1, k1, then nexxt 2 rows start with k1,p1 and last row is p1, k1. It is not in any US knitting books (thus called UK moss ) but I am having a really hard time with tracking ot seeing this pattern, despite having done a swatch. I should also tell you that the end of the row is UK moss stitch opposite of whatyou start that row on. SO for the purl row, the end is k1, p1 and reversed on the knit row.

Any information is greatly appreciated!

I did a tiny baby sweater in moss stitch and it was an eternity to finish. Alas, my tension is not good on purl sides, and it was truly a crappy looking rendition of moss stitch.

Polly, did you do a test wash to see if the dye bleeds? If the name of the yarn is Denim (Rowan?) I've read that it is indigo dye and even comes off on the knitter's hands and needles. You may have to pre-wash that beautiful garment several times (while blocking, maybe?) before gifting it.

It's gorgeous - I love the color & the moss stitch looks great. It really add texture to the bodice instead of plain stocking stitch. Great work.

The Secret Garden is divine! Really one of the most stunning patterns! I am sure as Dawn said that the moss st will look fine once it's washed and the denim has shrunk a bit. I am with Jill on the socks but knowing what a sock knitting wizard you are it'll probably be a doddle for you ;-)

The Secret Garden is beautiful.. Moss stitch is just offset ribbing and I don't mind doing it, though stockinette (especially in the round) is easier. I have one pair of socks on the needles that I didn't bring with me on vacation, but I'm going to try to stretch the last one out so I don't go into sock withdrawal before the 21st.

Good luck with the 52 Pr Plunge. I think that endeavor is splendid, but also mad. At least for me. I wanted to comment on your June goals, but the comment box did not appear, not sure if you turned it off or what.

My June goals will be pretty simple and easy too.

That's a lot of socks that you are planning! Are you sure that your workloud will give you permission? The moss stitch will be fine, blocking always sorts mine out and I am sure it will do even more so on denim. x

I agree with Jill, you are insane - who would want to knit so many socks?

Secret Garden looks lovely - denim moss stitch is a wonder after a little trip in the washing machine and dryer!

I think you are both mad doing all these socks - will there be any enjoyment or pleasure in racing through them like that? Will you ever want to knit a sock again? What are you going to do with all the socks?
