Boot socks

I always seem to forget how much faster it is to make up a pair of socks in DK wool. The yarn was bought when I was in Munich in Dec 2006. I liked the greens, wasn't sure about the pink stripe though... still not entirely sure about the pink, but I do know that I don't much like the spodges which looks like the colours ran/dripped onto each other

It works up so quickly though. I'm making them for me with an 8 inch leg and plan to use them for my hiking socks. The yarn feels is a bit like the Lion Brands Magic Stripe and Knit Picks Parade. It's not that soft and fairly loosely spun. I can even pick out the nylon from it. I'm sure that it would wear well though.

As it doesn't take long to get a sock, I regret not buying more of the DK weights when I had the chance, but when you walk into a new yarn shop, it's easy to be overwhelmed, especially one like the Rodel shops, where there's more sock yarn than you can shake a stick at.

Ooh, that's pretty sock yarn. The yarn knit in DK weight definitely goes faster.

Love the socks! How nice:) Never knit a pair in DK, I'll have to try some. Bet I can find some self striping DK.
