So how did I do against goals for January? Not too good and I've managed to have more than 24 WIPs because I had devoted so much time to the forest path stole.
Knitting Goals
1. Finish the Latvian Socks from Ultimate socks. I don't want this to end up long term on the WIP list.
Done
2. Start and finish a pair of red socks for the hubbler , who has recently expressed that he does rather like wearing hand-knitted socks.
Not Done. I would had successed only they didn't fit, so I think that I'm going to rip and reknit them. Most annoying
3. Start and finish a pair of gray socks for my dad, who had mentioned that all the socks in the packet for my mom were too short for him.... (well they're too short because I made them for mom) ...
Not Done. I've started them. One down, one to go.
4. Frog one more item for the WIP list. #23 looks like a good candidate.
Not Done. The intention was there but I had to work late on Monday and Tuesday and just forgot to do it.
5. Kitchener the toes of my christmas present. Yes, some wonderful person made me the most gorgeous socks. I just need to take the foot back a little and kitchener the toes together.
Not done, should be ashamed of myself, I'll do these in February.
6. Start 1 baby jacket, for friend's new baby. Pattern to be decided...
Not done.
7. Sort out a sweater for bunny
Nope, bunny is very cold.
I did end up working on a few things that were not on the original plan. I finished a child size pair of seduction socks
and I managed to complete tiers 17-24 and I'm 2 squares into tier 25 of the Forest path stole.
Stashing Goals
Not bad. I managed to buy some and get gifted some but I also managed to knit some, sell some and gift some. So overall, the there was a deficit of 300g. I would had done much better only I ran into a sale of Jaeger Ascot at PJ's and I succumbed.
February goals
1. Finish Forest Path Stole
2. Finish Lighthouse Gansey Socks
3. Rip back the hubbler's socks
4. Finish off my smooshy christmas present socks
5. Finish something else from the WIP list and get back to no more than 24 wips.
6. Continue stash evaluation. I'm putting some of my stuff for trade/sale on Ravelry. I really want to get rid of some of the stuff that I don't honestly think that I would ever knit up.
7. The reward? I get to cast on something lacy with some malabrigo that I have in stash.
You have done well & I love the Latvian socks & the gorgeous colors. The Forest Path stole is coming along very nicely - can't wait to see it done!
Posted by: Ann at February 6, 2008 04:54 AMGo go go Forest Path! I think that alone would be an admirable goal for February. :-)
Posted by: Beth S. at February 3, 2008 09:25 PMI think you've done amazingly well for your Jan goals, esp on FPS. I can't wait to see the finished article.
I saw your destash and was so tempted by a few things (in fact I have been tempted before) but I am completely snowed under by my own stash. Hmmmm...
Posted by: ling at February 3, 2008 08:59 PMI love your lists of goals - very organised. You've made a lot of progress.
I'm having visions of Dad trying to cram his feet into Mom's socks.... Love the ones that you've chosen to do for him.
Posted by: Anita at February 3, 2008 05:33 PMI love the way you review goals--I need to do this too! You should be so proud of what you have accomplished--I am proud of you!
The Forest Path Stole will be gorgeous when it is complete--and it will free up loads of knitting time (and mental space. Sometimes those long term projects really drag you down...)
You can do it!
Posted by: suzanne at February 3, 2008 12:36 PMI'm pretty impressed with your FPS progress too. Bummer about your hubby's socks, but you can rip and start fresh.
Posted by: Wanda at February 3, 2008 04:14 AMwow! You've galloped through the FPS! That on its own is a major achievement. If you can do this many tiers in a month you can finish in February. The rest of your goals will be a doddle! I'm also doing a stash evaluation each month, and January is good.
Posted by: dawn at February 3, 2008 12:23 AMI love your reward for meeting the February goals.
