I managed to finish these recently. These were the first pair that I had done with finger gussets and it's a bit harder than you would imagine to avoid holes. The fingers are also different lengths, as your fingers would be...something that I did not totally appreciate, hence the second finger came up a wee bit short.

Obviously, they are for someone with bigger hands than me.

I tied a bit of red yarn in the right glove just to avoid getting them mixed up.

They are relatively quick to make but there are a few errors in the pattern.
I did manage a few christmas pressies in the end, but I'm not writing about them until I'm sure that they have arrived. Given that I was still going to the post office on Dec 24th and have one more batch to send off tomorrow, there is a strong possibility that I can't write about them until 2008!
Lovely gloves. Happy Christmas and New Year!
Posted by: mrspao at December 29, 2007 09:04 AMNice gloves you have there. One of my resolutions for 2008 will be to make a pair of gloves or mittens.
Posted by: Mandella at December 28, 2007 05:40 PMI'm hiding your blog entry from my DH - he's been asking me to knit him another pair of fingerless gloves for ages. And yes, I do have to mark them to distinguish left from right, despite the thumb gussets. Where did you find that pattern?
Posted by: Helen at December 28, 2007 04:18 PMYeah, I'm from the "Christmas in January" school too :)
Happy New Year Polly!! (nice gloves too!)
Posted by: Debi at December 28, 2007 02:51 AMVery nice gloves, I'm glad you've managed to finish them! I'll stick to Knitters Handy book of Patterns!
Posted by: dawn at December 27, 2007 10:48 PMA piece of red yarn -- so that who can tell left from right? It appears to me that the position of the thumb gussets that you so meticulously made would make it obvious which palm is to be inserted. A very nicely done piece of knitting! Happy New Year!
