Jinxed

Some projects are just jinxed. I think Cambridge might fall in this category.

First, there was the mobius loop. As an experienced circular knitter, things like that really ought to NOT happen... but it did

Second, I knit up 4.5 inches of ribbing befor I came to my senses. Hello...! is it really attractive to, ahem, draw attention to one's flabby tummy? Especially if 50 sit-ups a day are not likely to ever get check off of my daily 'to-do' list?

After ripping and cruising along on the knitting, and getting this far, I realised, that starting the cabling much earlier is likely to have some 'consequences'. Consider this, you increase 60 odd stitches for the front and back, so I am effectively going to use more yarn. So the big question is, will I have enough to finish?

I'm trying to remain positive and I would like to point out that after ripping twice, unlike the knitter, the yarn is still not looking too distressed, but with my luck, I had been go and search out another ball in this dyelot asap.

Hope you get the yarn you need, it's looking really great - lovely rich colour.

I love the colour, and the cables, but I think you're right about all that rib, it can be very unforgiving. I do hope you find another ball of the yarn in the right dye lot.

LOVE the color, and I agree that this is a more flattering style for we who are tummy-challenged.

I love the color too and it's bound to be worth all the effort. It had better be. Definitely buy more yarn! Always need knitters insurance.

I love the color. I have that the sweater will be well worth all of the trouble when it's finished!

Even after the ripping, what you've knitted so far looks great. I'm loving the colour. *cheers you on*

That does sound like a good idea. :( I bet you're right about the cables eating up more yarn. But like the other commenters said, your knitting at least looks very nice!

Dear Polly-

In case you didn't get the one I sent to the Rowanette site- Thank you again for the lovely socks! I had fun showing them off to my knitting group- they fit beautifully, and I am just so happy! The biscuits are beyond wonderful, and the soap is divine! Can I return the favor and send you something from the upcoming stitches east?

Ooh I love that knitting, despite all the hassles you are having with it. I hope you get another ball in the same dyelot too, cant wait to see more progress.
