Faster Than The Speed Of Night

Yeah baby, they're done and the foot is ... nearly a foot in length! The failure of the poms, spurred me to achieve some success.. well would you rather 'rip and wind' or 'sit and knit'? Regia Jacquards really do have 'go-faster' stripes!

Obviously, I hadn't made them for me. But I wanted to show off the striping and with a 4 x2 rib, it's hard to do that without something to stretch them out.. so why not my feet (which I might add had just come out of the shower). The socks are no where nearly as pointy as they look in this photo .... and my stomach muscles can use a bit of work to hold this pose.

My feet are going to have to do a wee bit of growing for this to work, but they are done and with this cold snap, they might even get some wear.

oh and one more things, the Poms don't fit because of gauge... I have a rather high instep and the leg was just a bit tight getting over my heel. My ankles really aren't that meaty :@)

Lovely socks and great colours. I know what you mean about the go faster stripes, I always seem to knit quicker with striping yarn as I always want to get to the next colour.

Aren't you glad you're not knitting for a 12 inch foot every time? :)

If only you knew some feet to match, because they look so nice!

Hey, they're identical twins!
I thought they were turkish socks when I saw them on your feet!

Happy Anniversary!
I've been reading your blog for one year today. Your post of march 13th always comes up first on my favorites list. Keep up the wonderful work. I like your pointy toes......

Aren't you glad that 12 inches isn't the regular size ;)

Great socks! My dad has feet exactly a foot long -- which is why he doesn't have many pairs of handknit socks.

I am sorry ... but the toes of the socks are so pointy that it is almost hilarious to look at! (I admit, I did laugh out loud a bit!) Knitting matching striping socks is so much fun!
