I couldn't technically put saffron in the FO list since there are still the buttons and grosgrain to deal with. My plans to quickly whip up the ribbon edged cardigan last month came to nought. It's about 60% done, but I made myself focus and finish the Mountain Stream scarf. Isn't it just lovely?

I did make a few amendments:
1. I used smaller needles 3.5mm and ended up doing 3 more repeats of the center motif.
2. I could had done another repeat but I wimped out .. the fear of running out and having to rip back was just too unbearable
The final dimensions are 46 inches long by 10 inches wide.

It's a lovely pattern, very well written and with a minimum of effort to finish. The only tricky part was remembering to decrease the edges and it's easy to forget to do that and notice that you have too many stitches several rows later. This is not the fault of the designer but a feature of the pretty edges that you find in lacework.
Thank you Mary... and Susan. for the yarn and for the pattern. Don't you want to go and knit one too? The pattern is available at the Knitting Zone. . It's downloadable too for that instant gratification that you get when you go shopping ;-)
Stash Meter February
Be very proud of me... after Unloved Yarn Swap

and getting this

I finished these things

and sold a bit of stash so here is the final count for February.

Polly, the scarf is lovely. I have quite a bit of lace weight yarn in my stash and this project may be just the thing. Love your yarn in/yarn out stats.
Posted by: Aimee at March 4, 2006 04:15 PMLovely lovely work on the scarf. I wish I had done the stash swap. Sounds like it was fun.
Posted by: kathy b at March 3, 2006 05:20 PMgorgeous scarf! well done, darling. love your graphs too.
happy weekend!
Posted by: kris at March 3, 2006 12:44 PMsusan sent me over here to see your Mountain Stream. i just finished the first repeat on the body of mine. isn't it so pretty? wish i could post photos. mine is old columbia minerva mohair/acrylic blend from a thrift store. a little heavy and 'stickish' ..uhm...stiff, like acrylic is but working up to show off the garter lace very nicely. i'm using a size 7 needle and getting about ten inches of width. i'm SO proud of me for being able to understand the how to!
Posted by: marie in florida at March 2, 2006 09:55 PMLovely job, as usual! It's very well-designed--two fairly simple lace patterns that give the effect of something more complex when you combine them.
Posted by: Beth S. at March 2, 2006 06:12 PMIt's beautiful, Polly.
Posted by: susan at March 2, 2006 05:27 PMI'm trying to finish up my very large lace project before I jump into Susan's pattern. It is so beautiful and you did a lovely job of knitting it.
Posted by: margene at March 2, 2006 04:24 PMPolly! Your stats are totally hilarious. Totally cracks me up.
Posted by: Ann at March 2, 2006 04:13 PMThat scarf is definitely lovely. You know maybe that's what I need to do with some of my laceweight, I have grand plans for lace-weight shawls, but they never seem to get finished. Maybe some scarfs would be a much better committement for me, that I could actually accomplish.
Posted by: Rebekah at March 2, 2006 04:05 PMLovely scarf. It's gorgeous. I do love lacy, frothy scarves. great job on the stash reduction!
Posted by: Ling at March 2, 2006 03:37 PMNow there's lots to be proud of here, definitely working hard on your output. I think you need to reward yourself ;)
Posted by: Tracy at March 2, 2006 12:15 PMLovely scarf, Lucy Neatby has a similar scarf (small, lace, pointy edges!) which is on my to-do list.
Love your stashmeters! I'm keeping mine in a spreadsheet and losing the battle, mainly through sock yarns!

Posted by: dawn at March 2, 2006 12:04 PMI still don't have the guts to face up to my yarn stash yet ... should do something similar to yours ... to have a better idea ... so that won't buy any more new yarns ... ::sigh::
Posted by: Agnes at March 2, 2006 06:57 AMWow, those are some impressive outgoing statistics for February!
