With a little bit of this

... and how's the Debbie Bliss smock jacket going?

I decided to get one of the dreaded parts over with as quickly as possible.

Embroidery is mostly done

and the front is started too.

Rather flat loooking bobbles.

At this rate, there might a completed smock jacket in my future.

After finishing Kerry and Tina, I took them out to Liberty to show off. Here are the photos by the lovely Jacinta.

But Tina looks best draped across the elegant shoulders of the Alpaca Woman.

Even our cool blonde was looking a wee bit hot after this photo was taken

Polly, I love reading your blog.
May I link to it now that I have learned how it's done?
All the best, Kathleen.

Beautiful shawls Polly!

Wowwowwow. I love the square shape as you know but I do worry about hiding the lace by doubling it up to wear it.

Best to just drape them over the sofa, the table.........xoxo Kay

Both of the shawls are just lovely!!

Those shawls are simply gorgeous. Two works of art!.... Well done Polly.
As for the little jacket it is so sweet, I am looking forward to seeing it finished.

I LOVE it all! All this lace is making me want to start my shawl!

Beautiful work Polly - just beautiful.

Your work is simply gorgeous! I personally love Tina! Lovely work! Oh, I loved the socks in your past post, too! My 'city' also is NY!

They both look great, but your Kerry really makes me want to give this pattern another try. It's such a pretty shawl--less complicated than Tina, certainly, but strangely appealing. All the elements in it just seem to harmonize perfectly.

Love your work especially the smocking detail.
I am smocking a bodice for my granddaugher but the instructions are very vague. Can you give me some insight or a web sight for instructions. Thanks.

Found the shawl info at your gallery - which by the way, is truly amazing!

These two shawls are beautiful - I really admire your lace knitting. Wow Polly - you make me want to cuddle up in one right now. Thanks for sharing - got more details?

Everything is beautiful, but the Kerry shawl is really speaking to me. Is that the pattern from the Martha Waterman book?

Gorgeous shawls !
You're knitting a lot,as ever. I can only look on in wonder as you leave me in the dust !

Beautiful shawls!! Yes, how did you block them?

Posted by: Colleen at October 5, 2005 11:32 AM

They both look beautiful Polly. I've always been a bit hestitant about knitting a square shawl (all of that hidden lace when worn!) but there may yet be one in my future. I can't decide which one I like best.
And how on earth did you find floor space to block these?

Dawn:)
