And quietly flows the dawn

Now, that was fast! The Go with the flow socks are done! I used just over 1 skein of Lorna's Laces to do these socks. I could had made it with one skein if I used contrasting toes or heels. So much more economical than I would had thought.

This lace is very stretchy and measuring it can be a bit of a challenge. I purposely took this picture to show the difference between blocked and unblocked sock. The darn thing is stretchy.

The cuff lace and the leg lace were very easy to memorise. You can't really see the lace very well in the picture in the magazine, so I tried to take a close-up here.

This is a great pattern, easy and fast to execute. I wasn't sure how the sandridge colourway from Lorna's Laces was supposed to look, but I rather like the striping effect.

If all patterns were as sweet as this, there would never be second sock syndrome.

I just viewed some of the shawl patterns and fell in love with them. Is there a website that I can go to for 'shawl patterns'?
thanks again.

Now there's a collection of variegated GWF socks I hadn't seen. But you omitted mine! Too shrill for you? ;p

Love the new socks. I keep finding myself looking at socks lately, and I sense that I will be wearing some of my own handknit socks this winter...and possibly giving away quite a few pairs come Christmas. I love the colorway on your socks, especially since Lorna's Laces is just so NICE to look at. It's knit dreaming.

Yours are beautiful! I just finished my second sock today and I absolutely agree. What a great pattern this was.

Those are so pretty! I need to check out that pattern!

I think I just noticed the pun in today's title. (If it's an intentional pun, that is.) I majored in Russian, so it's kind of embarrassing for me that I missed it the first time around.

I still like the socks. :-)

I have a single skein of LL hanging around so I'll have to try these. I love lacy rib socks because they can be knit over so few stitches and still fit nicely.

I'm wearing my Go With the Flow Socks today, I must have subconsciously known you'd post your finished photos today.

Let me tell you people, these socks are sooooooo comfy, the lace has tons of stretch and they stay up beautifully.

The cuff on these is really interesting--it's so open! I like that much better than regular ribbing. It makes these socks distinctive.

I love the striping effect on the lace pattern. So now you just knit this pattern and no more SSS, right? xxo Kay

Those are lovely socks! Nice to know the lorna's laces went that far as well....definitely makes it more economical! I bet they smelled nice as well after sitting in the rosemary.

Loved these socks when I first saw them in the magazine. Now I'm even more convinced I need to make them.

Lovely socks! I like to see your work with the nature background.

Posted by: mimi at June 3, 2005 08:27 AM

Your 5/29 entry (and now today's finish pic) got me to pull out my IK, order yarn all the way from the UK (Angel Yarns) - got it today by the way and start tonite! Again, a beauriful job there! Terry in SF
