In the Air Tonight

Well, not exactly tonight but earlier today.

...voila! ..

First, the artsy shot, makes you feel like Santa is due for a visit, doesn't it?

The Retro sock were gently blocked with my Polti. Can I say that it's a great iron? Oh, wait, I've said that in the past.

The variegated plant is an eunymous. It's not supposed to climb but this one went straight up the trellis. I don't ask why anymore, since it's got nice colour and well, most things in my garden don't do what they're supposed to.

It was a right old sunny day, a perfect afternoon for gardening. The neighbours were all out doing theor spring tidies, so it was the perfect opportunity for me to take some pictures and have them witness my lunacy. (To the lady in the house next door, um.... I'm very sorry for clipping your rose that was growing over my trellis, I cut it and heard a tumbling sound on the other side, oops.)

...voila! ..

The usual boring shot at ATU

The retro rib is a great pattern... It's easy to knit and one of the benefits of alternating the 2 colours of yarns for each row is, you never even have to think about which row gets the twisted stitch.

...voila! ..

Second boring shot.

So, dare I risk sending these out in the post? Yes, I am nervous, because my Sockapalooza pal has probably given up hope of ever getting her socks, but she's probably too nice to complain to Alison.

Those socks look fab! I'm actually wishing they were mine, lol. Now I'm off to find the pattern so I can make some... (Of course that would be the Interweave issue that I can't find...) Your sockapalooza pal is one lucky girl! :)

Fantastic socks, I just love the colourway and the pattern. I do hope the original pair turn up though, it would be such a pity for all your hard work to be for nothing.

Love the socks! Can you register/insure the package, so that there's some kind of tracking on it if the post office loses it?

i am so impressed that you made a second pair. is there a chance your pal just didn't post about getting them?

btw, mine got returned to me the first time i sent them out so i had alison email my pal so she would be on the lookout (and because i felt badly about them getting to her so late).

good luck in sending this next pair! handmade socks are too lovely to not be enjoyed.

hi Polly
They're really nice! Love the colour too. I must make another pair of these in the near future again.
It was sunny over in your part of London? Miserable here, freezing cold and we've turned the heating off!
