Spring Forward
It's Easter Monday Sunday (oops!) and the clocks go forward....springing ahead, the season really has changed! In celebration, what else but a visit to the Greenwich Royal Observatory. Unlike most of London, Greenwich is marked with wide open spaces, so it never feels too crowded. You can even find a seat and have a bit of a knit.

Project Dilemma
Whilst I really want to wear fruity, it's not the most stimulating of things to knit (yawn!). It's better than plain stocking stitch but it's far from challenging, so I started something just a tad bit more engaging.

Now, here's the dilemma... the sides of the scarf is done with a k2tog, yo one side and a yo, k2 tog tbl on the other side. The ends are working really, really loosely and I'm debating as to whether I should rip and re-knit, forgoing the yo and just picking up a stitch on the following row to make it tighter. Do you think that it'll block out? I've been looking around to see if anyone else had this problem, but haven't found many before blocking pictures to see if this was an issue with anyone else. I might be paranoid, but I don't want to finish this and hate the slackness at the edge. Opinions, please....
and before I forget... hope that you've all had a happy easter.
We just switched.
And that show is our favourite!
Oh the scarf looks beautiful. I would think that blocking would fix it....but being such a newbie, I wouldn't listen to me :-)
The picture of the Queen's house is lovely. One day I will get there!

it's beautiful, love the colour!
thanks for the ring too, great idea!
I've just noticed the Rowanette webring link Polly !! I'm in there as soon as I get a minute :0)))
Posted by: Heather at March 28, 2005 03:32 PMBronte is lovely Polly, I didn't buy the Yorkshire Fable book but I'm more tempted now. Do you think it would work in mohair ?
Posted by: Heather at March 28, 2005 03:30 PMAgree with previous posts- try blocking what you've done and if no use , try the fixes. No point saying don't rip out is there?
I wouldn't rip it out.
Try using my "Short St". (from my out of print book "Simply Perfect Knitting".
Work the last st by wraping the yarn "clockwise" around the needle instead of the normal "anti-clockwise". And then do the same with the YO at the beginning of the next row. Doing this will result with these sts being on "backwards"....so work them (clockwise)through the back of the loop on the following row so that they don't end up twisted.
Contact me if this isn't too clearly understood.
This should "fix" the loops.
Good luck
Posted by: Elayne Pryor at March 27, 2005 10:38 PMClocks went forward last night - Saturday.Well,to be pedantic,at 1.00 a.m. Sunday morning.o,you've still got Easter Monday to go ! Fab ! Another day off.
I think the edge will block out o.k.,but if worried about it Dawn's suggestion is good.
Oh, I remember using that tunnel. All of us skipping along, trying to avoid the very seedy characters lurking at the end...
Your clocks go on a Sunday-Monday? Seems like the last time a UK trip coincided with the change to BST it happend on a Saturday-Sunday. Maybe I'm just making that up...
Posted by: Colleen at March 27, 2005 08:15 PMPut your work onto thread and block it out to see how it behaves.
Did you go under the thames via the foot tunnel. We did that once when we where doing a lot of means of transport one day. Ended up walking over the thames on the new footbridge to finish off the day.

Posted by: dawn at March 27, 2005 07:20 PMCarry on knitting, Bronte is looking lovely, I think blocking will cure it, unless of course, its driving you mad.
Don't know how to say this, but its still Sunday in Warwickshire.
What if you knitted a small garter stitch swatch with the same ends and then do a trial block? Yeah me suggesting a swatch whatever next!
