Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel

What's better that a skein of Polly and a skein of James? Well, the answer that is obviously a skein of James and Polly

James and Polly

James and Polly.

This precious skein was sent to me by Linzi. Wasn't that just the kindest thing? It makes it all the more special because it was such a surprise.

Now, I'm really torn, do I knit it or stash it?

Sockapalooza.

I'm psyched to start my Sockapalooza sock, soon. I did a bit of espionage to get more details... because like most knitters, we love exchanges but there's that neurotic side of us that starts worrying about an expert knitter getting something less than expert. Oh my stars... please don't let me embarrass myself... and how does one say? Sock-a-pal-oo-za? Sock-a-pa-looser? like I said recently... minefields..

Hi Polly,
like Catou I wanted to e-mail you about the kiri pattern and I found your adress weird so: I started kiri yesterday and I really love it! The pattern is easy and well explained and so far it looks very beautiful. THANK YOU for the pattern! and I am sure your socks will be very nice!

KNIT IT. It's too beautiful to languish in the closet or wherever you stash yarn in the wool room. And being alpaca, it's way to deliciously soft to be ignored in the wool room. Knit it.

Oh, how beautiful and with attached pictures? AH, that just makes it soooo special...then of course the names...
I don't know...it would be hard to knit with unless it was a ultra special item!!! I would say sock-a-pa-looza...(you were right the first time)
I like that- 'did a bit of espionage to get more details' - great way of putting it ;)

Polly + James = one beautiful yarn. It looks really pretty.

I have the same socka-pal-ooza worries. My fear was of the yarn. My recipient mentioned on her blog about working at a yarn store. So I decided on handspun merino. I agree with Loiuse about the PollyJames yarn. Stash and fondle. You'll figure out what it's supposed to be.

Wowie zowie whatta brilliant gift. I have an idea: I remember seeing in one of the mags--Interweave?--a pattern for hand-holding mittens. Each person gets one regular mitten and one mitten that has room for two hands.

Awwww! Wouldn't that be perfect for Polly and James: the yarn? xoxox Kay

PS Dying to know what James said!

Dear Polly,

I have a bad englsih, sorry... but I would thank you for the Kiri pattern ! It is very beautiful and I've knit it with Pichenette from Plassard.
Thank you very much for this free pattern and best regards from Switzerland !

Stash first till you find the perfect pattern for it, then this is a definite must knit. Polly and James entwined together, how utterly romantic and wonderful.

I know the Sockapalooza-feeling! I finished my first exchange sock, and it looks tiny compared to my humongous feet. Luckily I have a housemate with more average size woman's feet and the sock fit her so it should be OK... ;) But still there's this nagging feeling of the socks maybe not fitting, me converting the inches to metric wrong, or the colour not pleasing the recipient.

Awww! What a lovely gift!

I know where you're coming from with the neurotic feelings - I've changed my mind three times now about the yarn I'll use for Sockapalooza and as for the pattern...
But I think anyone would be lucky to receive a pair of socks knitted by you!

give us the low-down - which pattern are you using? I'm still not sure!

Yes knit up the PJ alpaca! When's your wedding anniversary? I can't even begin to think of what to knit with it though. What about a cushion cover? Or at least an insert for a cushion cover. Or a lover's mitten (you know, the frankenstein one with two openings, so that you can hold hands in the mitten)

Dawn :)

Polly! Your knitting is beautiful! Don't ever think otherwise, I for one, would be honoured to receive a pair of socks from you as I'm sure would anyone else.
