First, check out my blueberry waffles. I am so proud of them.
Here's a close-up of the heel and gusset.
These are one large pair of man socks, in a boring shade of heathery blue, that was given to me by Rowanette Dawn. I keep thinking, what I wouldn't give to have my recipients want socks from bright colours.
Kiri
Link on the left. Let me know if you find any errors. I tried really hard to make it error free but I'm sure that I missed something. If you're a newby, I would suggest that you wait a week before starting. I really need to have nothing to do with it for a few days to give it, it's final proofing.
pretty pretty, and am thinking I will be getting the yarn and trying out the lace with dental floss. Fear be damned!!!
Posted by: stinkerbell at December 7, 2004 11:51 AMPolly, I can't thank you enough for posting the Kiri pattern. I can't wait to make it. I was so daunted by casting on some many stitches for birch, I was finished before I started. You are a goddess!!
Posted by: ricki at December 7, 2004 05:03 AMI love your blueberry waffles. That is such a beautiful blue! Thanks for the free pattern!!! :-)
Posted by: Eilene at December 6, 2004 02:52 PMHi Polly,
Can't wait to start Kiri, but have to finish Christmas socks first. Thank you so much for sharing the pattern.

Posted by: Tokaya at December 3, 2004 07:29 AMI'm floored. I'll have to make Kiri just to honor the amazing job you have done with the pattern.
I'm sorry you were bored doing the blueberry socks, but they are GORGEOUS. Then again, I have a thing for socks.

Polly, thank you so much for all the work you've done, not only designing the pattern but also for the wonderful pdf file! kiri is born a classic.
No need to say I'm going to start one right away - in KSH khaki and I'll probably keep this one since I gave away my two birches
Thanks again!!!
Polly - thank you so very much for sharing the Kiri pattern - I am excited to get started. It was very kind of you to do so much work and offer it to this community!
I love the blueberry waffles - the color is perfect.
I am so so impressed. I am with the girls, written patterns are best! A. xx
Posted by: Amelia at December 2, 2004 10:43 AMIt's Kiri for me too. I agree with Jacinta, give me written instructions anyday! Thanks Polly.
Posted by: Tracy at December 2, 2004 10:07 AMHi Polly

I think the blue is very nice!! Add my thanks for all the work involved in getting Kiri to us all. Definitely one for the New Year.
Posted by: Lesley at December 2, 2004 07:28 AMHi Polly.
The socks are lovely ! I think teh recipent will love it.
Thank you very much for sharing Kiri with us. I think you have present the pattern in proprofessional way !
Posted by: Eva Shiu at December 2, 2004 06:37 AMThank you Polly, Kiri will definitely be on my needles over Christmas, it looks so beautiful. A double thanks for the written instructions, I find them so much quicker to knit than deciphering charts, or am I just an old fashion girl?!
Posted by: Jacinta at December 2, 2004 06:12 AMThank you so much for the Kiri pattern. I was trying to psych myself up for Birch, but being a novice at lace I was worried it might be a very frustrating experience. You have addressed the main problem (starting with the longest rows) and now I think there is nothing stopping me (except for the many other things I've got on the needles already, of course!)
Posted by: Cynthia at December 2, 2004 03:32 AMPolly, thank you so much for the Kiri pattern, it looks wonderful. I'm sure that there will be as many Kiris out there as there are Birches. I will get it on the needles as soon after Christmas as possible.
And the socks are beautiful too, you are so lucky to be able to knit in anything other than bright shades. Lyssie still tends to go for the shock factor.
Posted by: Louise at December 1, 2004 11:37 PMLovely socks.
Thank you for the Kiri pattern. No time to read through it,but I'm sure it's perfect.I shall enjoy knitting it,probably after xmas...unless I get an irresistable urge ! ;-]
