Here's a little preview of the edging. The shawl is done (finally)! I'm going to do a wet block when I come home from work tomorrow and take some proper photos. It does feel good to cast off that last stitch and know that there's only a (very) few ends to weave in. (Btw, there's a very slight scallop on the edging, which you can't really see... at least not until I've blocked it)
Now, off to spend some time with Phil.
oh my god! that is hilarious! best laugh i've had all day!
Posted by: shobhana at July 12, 2004 03:15 AMLovely shawl! well done :) And I love the yarn-lady conversation, that was me at the LYS yesterday!!
Posted by: amanda at July 7, 2004 03:22 PMThe shawl looks lovely - I can't wait to see the whole item. I am still working away on my much smaller scarf version. I'm about half way now and going to be very late for the exchange! Ah well!
Posted by: Sarah W. at July 7, 2004 09:15 AMIt is v. beautiful Miss Polly, v.v. beautiful....and now that I am in the midst of some lace knitting of my own, I appreciate it even more.
Can you send it to me?
Posted by: elisabeth at July 6, 2004 10:47 PMIt's beautiful.I'm really looking forward to seeing it blocked.
Posted by: Emma at July 6, 2004 06:24 PMPolly! So glad to hear you are a bit behind on your Extremities project, as it gives me a few days of respectable cover. You see, I was so proud of my project that I took it to Downtown Yarns, where I had found the yarn and pattern, to show it off. Then I left the store without it. They called and told me to come get it, which to my ear sounded a lot like "buy more yarn!". Still a few rows left, and a little bit of 'packaging' (my favorite part of any exchange process--accessorizing!), and off it will go.
Love your hemp lace. I recently received a hank from House of Hemp and was thinking, less ambitiously of course, of making a lacy scarf with it. xox Kay
Posted by: Kay at July 6, 2004 06:11 PMThe hemp yarn looks very pretty! I'm a bit iffy about my own hemp project at the moment, probably just need to work a few more inches on it...
Posted by: Anita at July 6, 2004 01:38 PMThat is a very beautiful shawl, did you tell us what the pattern was and I just can't find it?
Can't wait to see what you decide to knit with the Phil!
