Anchors away!

Here's the Call*nectes bag. R*vets banged *n and tw*sted cord *n place. * opted out of the *-cord, mostly because *t's just not fun to kn*t and a tw*sted cord works just as well.

All wrapped up

The Johnny socks went *nto the bag and father-*n-law seemed please, although *t's hard to be sure. He's such a pol*te fellow, that he would never let on, that he d*dn't l*ke *t. Well, we stayed for an excellent Sunday roast, so he couldn't have hated them, r*ght?

..and those Johnny socks ..

Off to finish sewing in the ends for Fleur. Yes, *t's f*n*shed and blocked, but there are about a hundred ends to sew *n. * hope there's a good mov*e on ton*ght.

NB: * = 'i' as I had to redo the letterings since I mispelled Callinectes and omitted the 'i' (nod to Sharon)

Ooohhh you're all so kind. Yes, Sharon, you are cheeky. Louise.. I am a mortal, trust me. The rivets were a little too small but I didn't have much of a choice since it was too close to the deadline. Kay, Emma, My father-in-law is a wonderful and charming man (I did luck out on the in-laws front)... he would pretend and wear them if he thought that he might hurt my feelings. Honest, it's hard to live up to expectations.

:-)

If your father-in-law is not thrilled, and indeed overwhelmed by the thoughtfulnees of your gift and the work that went into it ...there's something wrong with him !
He's very lucky to get such a fantastic gift.
The bag and socks are beautiful,in a suitably masculine way.

Polly, the socks and bag are wonderful. You do so much work and yet make it look so effortless, not like this mere mortal. I'm sure your father in law is thrilled to bits with them, who wouldn't be?

It's awe-striking that you went to such trouble for the packaging of socks. As we would say in Hebrew, you make a gorgeous pair of sox, dayenu--it would be enough!--but to make a personalized sock-bag, wow. Both sox and bag are beaut*ful. I especially adore the rivets. Rivets would work SO well with Denim yarn, am I right?

Carry on you crazy *ndustr*ous nut with the rivet-pounding hammer in your knitting bag!

Dearest Polly,
Your post made me laugh - I'm sooo cheeky!
Both the socks and the bag look great. I'm sure your father-in-law was chuffed to bits - men aren't very good at communicating these things...
love
Sharon
