Mellow Yellow

My husband calls it the 'Cosmo Syndrome', the desire to take all these quizes to see where you 'fit' into the realm of humanity .. (spoil sport). On the other hand, I am totally addicted to quizes. So, spurred by Kristine, (no arm twisting required), I dashed over and did the quiz.

YELLOW

You are very perceptive and smart. You are clear and to the point and have a great sense of humor. You are always learning and searching for understanding.

Find out your color at Quiz Me!

I'm not sure how accurate it is though, I certainly don't see myself that way, it sounds like a college professor and I can't ever imagine myself in that kind of a role. Not that I have anything against academia, but professors are really smart people, that are just slightly out of touch with the rest of world... forgoing the corporate ladder for the good of future generations. I wish I could be so noble, but I really do have a lot of yarn shops to support.

On-going Projects
The Lizzie scarf is finished (phew!) and is blocking away. I did another pattern repeat of Birch and cast-on for my father-in-law's birthday present. I'm making him a pair of socks using some Regia that I had in stash and following the Johnny Socks pattern by Jackie E-S. It's very dangerous visiting Elann. What starts out a a quick peek of the offers on the week, turns out to be a minor shopping expedition. The more you buy the more you save in postage, so I ended up buying 4 patterns instead of 2, because the postage was the same... am I a seller's dream or what?

Thought I would share what my next project list is currently composed of:

Teddy Bear Coat from Debbie Bliss Book 6 (for Ben)
Double knitted child's Coat from Debbie Bliss Tweed Collection (for Alex)
Ribbon Trimmed Jacked from Debbie Bliss Tweed Collection (for me)
Eriskay by Jean Moss from Knitters #60 (for me)
Daisy Cardigan by Zoe Mellor from Rowan #25 (for Catherine)
Chevron Sweater (not the scarf) from Debbie Bliss Book 6 (for me)
Olive by Amanda Griffiths from Jaeger Albany Booklet (for me)
Hearten by Kim Hargreaves from Rowan's Calmer Collection (for me)
Merlanna by Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton from Noro (for me)

Ambitious, ain't I

Now the scary part, I have the yarns for most of these projects. So, I best get knitting. :-)

I'm a blue too! Merlanna is on my list too, but may move down a place or two when this new Yorkshire Tweed comes out - I liked the look and feel of it (saw some at the Mill over the week-end). But I'm not posting my list either, the knitting police may be after me if I don't keep to it.... And then we have the Knitting & Stitching Show and all that Touch Yarn (and I still have some from last year's show in its unknitted state).

I only listed a few projects that would like get done soon. Don't get me started on ALL the things that I want to knit... and that's before I get my hands on Kristine J's Australia books. Green is also one of favourite colours..and since I'm partial to knitting the finer yarns (4 ply not a snob about cashmere and silk) .. my full list of projects would be too scary.

Wow! That is quite the list, and sad part is I love them all!

BTW, no slamming professors, as I start teaching in a Master's program today as an adjunct professor of marketing! So be nice! ;) And I am definetly not too smart, and hope I am not out of touch!

Rich was blue too....isn't anyone else Aqua, or is it just me??

Tempted by the DB ribbon trimmed Tweed sweater....

Thanks Polly- that was fun ! I'm green - "calm and contemplative, others are drawn to my peaceful and nurturing nature". I can think of certain family members who may beg to differ !

Having said that green is my favourite colour (even got married in full length bottle green velvet) and I like to think I'm fairly laid back.

I hadn't come across your blog before but I spotted it on Emma's - that is an impressive list of future projects. I'd be too embarrassed to post mine in case someone checked whether I actually finished them all. I've had a good weekend though having decided on the spur of the moment to do quick handknit cotton jacket for my small neice, it's knitting up so quickly that I've already done the back and one of the fronts. Hurrah !

I'm yellow too!!!!

have been buying way too much yarn here in Australia and some pretty good books too!! will bring all next sunday..... I was doing so well on stash reduction, spurred on by sister Ks finishitis, but now i guess it is more stash maintenance than reduction.....

Polly,
I love the list of your projects, the pictures are wonderful and so will be the finished product of course. I especially like the Merlanna one, I could go for that one too.

And thanks for pointing me in the direction of the quiz, I had fun finding out I was blue.

"You give your love and friendship unconditionaly. You enjoy long, thoughful conversations rich in philosophy and spirituality. You are very loyal and intuitive."

I don't know how accurate that is but I feel quite flattered.

Hi Polly;
This is a really nice site. Can't remember how I found it as you've been pretty quiet about it. You don't seem to post as much over at the Rowan site anymore... too busy setting this up? Regarding your "things to do list" Well its certainly ambitious. I always think how do all these people have such huge lists and think its ever going to get done? Then I have my own little reality check. The hardest thing is getting yarn for a certain project and then for evermore after that its not allowed to be used for anything else even if you change your mind? Maybe you don't do that. Gosh, I'd forgotton about Eriskay. I notice Birch isn't on that list, and by the way if ypu didn't get my e-mail I really thank you for the pattern. Just received yarn for it on Thursday. Bye Jacki
